With the SEEDS 2 EMPWER grant, we plan to develop a curriculum and framework for teachers in underrepresented communities to teach students data literacy and how they can use that knowledge to create real-world change
Impact
Our initiative offers participants mentorship and resources to navigate research projects tailored to their unique interests. Through a culminating symposium, participants engage with local government stakeholders, delivering presentations that contribute to informed policymaking and community development.
Seeds 2 EMPWER is a partnership that is funded by The University of North Texas a R1 research instituion and The Advanced Enviromental Research Instittue ( AERI)
Project Brief
The primary objective of my role is to synchronize and optimize collaborative efforts among research participants and researchers to achieve project goals and meet established deadlines. As the Project Manager, my role is pivotal in orchestrating these efforts, ensuring cohesion, efficiency, and ultimately, project success.

The Man(ny) behind EMPWER
Navigating the dual roles of Project Manager and Designer, I've been instrumental in shaping the identity of our research grant through logo design and branding. Leveraging my expertise in project management, I've steered our endeavors toward success by providing comprehensive support to my team. This includes streamlining administrative processes to guarantee seamless resource accessibility for participants, thereby fostering an environment conducive to impactful research outcomes.
Impact
Working with SEEDS 2 EMPWER has shown me that my design background can be utilized towards impactful efforts outside of web and product design. Seeing the research participants develop their hypotheses and understanding of the material has been rewarding to me. I can now see that my work can be impactful in shaping a better future.
