Creative Director

 Goal & Deliverable

UXSA is actively trying to engage with UNT students and professionals in the DFW area. We needed to establish a visual identity that engages with our audience and is easily recognizable.

 Impact

increased impressions by 360% and reached 500+ students and Professionals and 3 social media platforms

User Experience Student Association at UNT (UXSA)

a comprehensive academic initiative that offers students a structured and immersive learning experience focused on User Experience (UX) design principles and practices.

Project Brief

As elected creative director, my role was to create a visual identity that reflected the mission and vision of UXSA. When I stepped into the role, there was no existing visual identity. This allowed me to imagine a UXSA that was more than just your average student organization.

Outcome

UXSA has grown their network and recognition across UNT and the DFW area. We have also launched our first design challenge titled Pixels with Purpose that aims to engage with college students and foster a creative and collaborative environment centered around ethical design that includes workshops and mentoring for our participants

Approach

Nostalgia and Timeless Appeal

In our pursuit of crafting a visual identity that resonates with the spirit of UXSA, we found ourselves drawn to the timeless allure of a monochromatic color palette. An artful choice that effortlessly evokes nostalgia and embraces the essence of simplicity, it embodies the very heart of our vision.

Crafting Cohesive Experiences

A monochrome palette allows for scaling in multiple directions. It easily adapts to a variety of instances, ranging from digital media to printed material. With each touchpoint, the monochrome hues evoke a seamless and unified experience for all who encounter UXSA

Pixels with Purpose

The marriage of brutalist principles with pop art influences is seamless and harmonious. We balanced the raw simplicity of brutalism with the vivaciousness of pop art, which is both visually striking and conceptually rich.

UXSA: out and about

The real-world application of the UXSA style guide illustrates how it makes a tangible impact in everyday scenarios. Through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established design standards, my design team and I demonstrate how the UXSA style guide fosters consistency, clarity, and user-centricity across diverse projects. From digital interfaces to physical spaces, the UXSA style guide creates cohesive and impactful user experiences that resonate with audiences.

The Man(ny)
with a Plan

As the Creative Director of UXSA, my primary goal is to lead a team of talented designers in conceptualizing, developing, and implementing a cohesive and authentic brand identity that resonates with our student population.  I aim to elevate UXSA's visual and experiential presence, driving growth and success for the organization in an ever-evolving digital landscape

Impact

When I stepped into the role of creative director, I was given the mission to create a comprehensive style that aligned with the mission and vision of UXSA. In my role, I have overseen a team of two talented designers and managed project timelines, allocating tasks, and brand adherence.

Gratitude

Collaborating with my amazing design team has not only shown me my capability as a leader but also as a designer. They constantly push me to become a better leader and designer. Thank you to my wonderful design team and the officer board for helping me create a space that is collaborative and inviting.
